The Bhagini Nivedita College (BNC) was established in 1993 by the Government of Delhi with the aim of spreading education in the rural southwestern side of the city. The college is named after Sister Margaret Nobel, one of the most prominent disciples of Swami Vivekananda, who took the name Bhagini Nivedita. She devoted her life to promoting the education and empowerment of girls. Bhagini Nivedita College is now considered one of the most popular women’s colleges under the University of Delhi.

It is a government college and is affiliated to Delhi University (DU). The college’s vision was to provide quality education to women making them skilled enough to be independent.
